Twelve loops, no clipping, no pumping, no apology. Clip-To-Zero is a bus-cascade method for stacking loud loops cleanly. This report is the websited version of the full reference - concepts first, then technique, then the interactive workbench at the end.
The mission. A phrase-based looper stacks layers on a single mix bus. Somewhere around layer 4 the master goes red, transients flatten, the kick punches a hole. Every traditional fix (master limiter, gain ride, sidechain on the master) kills the feel. CTZ is the alternative: design every channel and bus so it CANNOT go above 0 dBFS, no matter how many layers stack, while still hitting competitive loudness.
The method comes from Baphometrix's "Mixing LOUD with CTZ" YouTube series. This site distills the 12+ episodes into a structured reference, mapped to a Loopy Pro live-set template plus an iOS plugin arsenal, plus a hands-on interactive bus-cascade workbench.
CTZ gainstaging, clip at every bus, the Pincer, the VCA Trick. The conceptual map of the whole method.
Episode 2 deep notes. K-System cranked to competitive loudness. Why traditional gain staging fails on a loud master.
Saturate from below + clip from above. Then one knob to hit any loudness target. Plugin chain, exact dB values, signal flow.
Source -> sub-bus -> main -> master. Each bus gets its own clipper. The Loopy Pro template implementation.
Which sources duck which, by how many dB, on which trigger. Asymmetric ducking along the bus tree. With the routing diagram.
Every CTZ plugin role mapped to its iOS AUv3 alternative. Saturator, clipper, sidechain, VCA, bus utility.
Every CTZ term with a tight definition. Plus an episode-by-episode index of the Baphometrix series.
Drag source -> bus -> master, watch gain staging visually. Toggle preset scenes. See the ducking grid: which sources duck which, by how many dB, on which CC trigger. Map CTZ pincers to specific Loopy Pro / Mela / Drambo / AUM presets, with exact module chain and parameter values.
