Loopy-Pro Rig - Multi-Out Strategie

Basis = breite Palette, viele Voices, flache Synth-Tiefe. Macht das Fundament.
Character = wenig Parts, tiefe/eigene Engine. Macht die Signatur.
Regel = keine Doppelung. Zwei Acoustic-Boxen oder zwei Drum-Boxen = Redundanz, nicht Substitution.

Channel-Budget (dein Rig)

~20 Input-Kanaele am iPad (L6 beobachtet)
~5 Stems live performbar (darueber bist du Mischer)
~16-20 Recording-Headroom
Interface ist swappable: L6 10 Analog-In heute, MOTU UltraLite-mk5 = 16 fuer die groesseren Combos. iOS sieht nur EIN Interface gleichzeitig.

Deine Ketron + Elektron Idee - ehrliches Verdict

Ketron Audya 4 + Elektron (c4a FM / c4b drums): the role-split instinct is SOUND - pairing a wide acoustic/band BED with a deep synthetic-character box is exactly the right pattern, and against a melodic/FM spice (Digitone II) the two do not musically compete (c4a scores mid-pack). But the specific Ketron Audya 4 base is the weak link: it is a legacy arranger (spinning HDD, USB-reliability risk, EOL engine, 7kg, DIN-only) and despite 32 parts it has only 4 analog outs, so its whole band collapses to 2 stereo stems - you pay arranger money and waste the part-count. The dedicated Ketron research is explicit: do NOT make a Ketron the multi-out backbone, neither as the Audya 4 legacy arranger nor as a modern stereo-only module. The Audya4+Rytm variant (c4b) is worse: a Ketron arranger already generates real audio drums+bass from its styles, so adding a drum machine double-books the rhythm role. Net: keep the base/spice INSTINCT, swap the base. The same money buys a far stronger backbone - Integra-7 (acoustic + 8 outs + low risk) - with the FM/VA/analog character box as the spice.

BASIS (Breite/Voices)SuperNATURAL acoustic/keys/drums + 16-part bed (no FM, no Elektron sequencer).
CHARACTER (Spice)Deep 4-op FM (the one engine Integra completely lacks) + the legendary Elektron live workflow (p-locks, conditional trigs) for evolving FM leads/basses/percussion.
Warum sie sich gegenseitig ersetzen:
  • Integra acoustic 100 / FM 0; Digitone II FM-only / acoustic 0 -> perfect engine-gap fill
  • FM metallic/bell/bass timbres are absent from Integra's SuperNATURAL+PCM palette
  • Elektron p-lock sequencing is a different performance modality than Integra's static multi
  • Both modern-ish, both deliver 4 stereo pairs (Integra native, Digitone via Outbox 8)
Cleanest engine-gap logic (FM is the single biggest hole in Integra's otherwise huge palette) and BOTH boxes are low-aging-risk. The catch is the whole Digitone multi-out hangs on the Outbox 8, whose iPad class-compliance is UNVERIFIED until Jul/Aug 2026 owner reports - until then the Digitone gives only a stereo sum to the iPad. Voice pool is the field's thinnest (1/part). Strong on paper, blocked on the Outbox verification.

Everything must funnel through the single chosen interface (L6 or MOTU).'}
Mutual Substitution:
  • Integra acoustic-quality ~100 / FM-character 0; Digitone II FM-character high / acoustic 0 -> the cleanest single engine-gap fill in the whole combo set (FM is the one big hole in Integra's otherwise enormous palette).
  • ONLY the Digitone can make true 4-op FM: metallic, bell, glassy, clangorous and hollow DX-style timbres are physically absent from the Integra's SuperNATURAL + PCM sound set.
  • ONLY the Integra can deliver realistic acoustic instruments + 6000+ ROM sounds + a 16-part bed; the Digitone has zero acoustic content and a tiny voice pool.
  • Different PERFORMANCE modality, not just different sounds: Elektron p-locks / conditional-trigs / parameter-slides are an evolving step-sequenced motion the Integra's static multi cannot produce - and Loopy looping the Integra bed is a different modality again.
  • FX character also substitutes via routing: both boxes have only ONE global reverb/chorus, but because each runs to its own L6 inputs you add per-stem AUv3 FX on the iPad - the boxes never fight over one reverb colour.
  • Net: the combo inherits the BEST of each axis - Integra's acoustic + breadth, Digitone's FM character + sequencer motion - with essentially no role overlap.
Live-Szenario: ['Integra holds the bed: a SuperNATURAL Rhodes + warm string pad on parts 1-2 (Scaler 3 from the iPad feeds the chords), looped in Loopy - clean, realistic, the harmonic floor.', 'Digitone II layers the motion on top: a p-locked 4-op FM bell-arp on track 1 and a hollow detuned FM bass on track 2, both evolving via conditional trigs while the Integra bed loops underneath.', 'Stems into the L6: Integra keys-pair + Integra pad-pair as 2 stereo stems, Digitone FM-lead + FM-bass as 2 more (via Outbox, or summed to Main if Outbox-on-iPad is still unproven) = 4 performable stems, each with its own AUv3 reverb in Loopy - acoustic warmth and FM grit living side by side, never on the same engine.']
Der Haken: The Digitone's entire multi-out story hangs on the Outbox 8 - and there are TWO stacked unknowns as of 2026-06: (1) the Outbox 8 vendor compat list names Digitakt 1/2, Digitone 1, Analog Four/Rytm Mk2 and Syntakt, but does NOT yet explicitly name the Digitone II; (2) the Outbox 8's iPad/iOS class-compliance is UNVERIFIED (Elektron was never asked at Superbooth), so even if DN2 works, the iPad path is unproven until Jul/Aug 2026 owner reports. Until both clear, the Digitone gives the iPad only a stereo sum (still usable as ONE FM stem, just not 8). Secondary catches: combined 16 mono jacks overflow the bare L6 (needs sub-mix or a MOTU), the Digitone's voice pool is the field's thinnest (~1 voice/part dense), and the dry-stems-on-Outbox / FX-returns-on-Main split means capturing wet+dry costs 2 extra L6 inputs (8 dry + 2 main = all 10).

BASIS (Breite/Voices)SuperNATURAL acoustic/keys/strings/drums + broad 16-part workstation bed; the breadth + realism that the Virus has zero of.
CHARACTER (Spice)Signature aggressive German VA: the rectifying filter-distortion lead/bass/pad nothing else replicates; the raw synth edge the clean Integra lacks.
Warum sie sich gegenseitig ersetzen:
  • Integra = 100 acoustic, 0 VA-character (clean/polished by design)
  • Virus = 0 acoustic, MIDI-depth 100 + the one VA timbre Integra cannot make
  • They literally never overlap: rompler-realism vs modelled-analog grit
  • Both 16-part multitimbral, both global-reverb-limited (each prints reverb per part/insert)
Best pure sound-coverage in the field (top breadth + the most iconic character voice) but the WEAKEST risk profile: the Virus carries a Freescale-DSP-EOL repair lottery and a dead Mac/iPad driver, so the spice box is the live-reliability hole. Buy the Virus only as a character indulgence, knowing it may be unrepairable. Channel-wise the two 16-part boxes together can demand 14 mono jacks if you take all stems, over the bare L6's 10.

Mutual Substitution:
Ohne Integra = keine akustische Band/Drums/Keys. Ohne Virus = keine lebendige VA-Spitze, alle Leads/Bass werden statisches Sample-Playback. Sie ersetzen sich gegenseitig in NULL Faellen - das ist die ideale Komplementaer-Combo (Integra = Tier-S Acoustic-Base-Sieger, Virus = Character-Buy on top).
Live-Szenario: Loopy-Set 'Dark Prism'-Track: Integra haelt ch1 SuperNATURAL-Drumloop (Out A -> L6 1/2) + ch3 dunkles SRX-Streicher-Pad (Out C -> L6 5/6) als akustisches Fundament, beide als getrennte Stems geloopt. Virus liefert ch1(Port2) einen modulierenden HyperSaw-Lead und ch2(Port2) einen fetten LFO-Sub-Bass, beide gesummt auf Out1/2 -> L6 9/10, live unter den Haenden via Erae-2 -> CC40 Cutoff + CC91 Volume getweakt. Du loopst Drums+Pad erst trocken (AUv3-Reverb pro Stem in Loopy), dann improvisierst du den Virus-Lead/Bass live drueber - akustisches Integra-Bett + lebendige Virus-Spitze in einem Pass.

The strongest no-VA-risk pairing: same sound-coverage idea as the Virus combo (acoustic bed + fat VA spice) but the Kyra is FPGA with no known aging killer, so risk is medium not high. Two trade-offs: Kyra is EOL with a dead firmware pipeline + famously weak reverb (use its per-part delay/dist, reverb on iPad), and two 8-out boxes overflow the bare L6 - plan a sub-mix or a bigger interface. Warum sie sich gegenseitig ersetzen:
A coherent vintage-breadth + modern-analog-character split with an MPE bonus, but it has the field's WORST combined risk-and-value drag: the XV-5080 needs a near-mandatory vintage recap (~120 EUR) and is DIN-only/2U/heavy, while the Redshift 6 is a 2350 EUR boutique 6-voice (2x an Integra) - so you spend ~3250 EUR and still get a recap-risk backbone. The value champion: the absolute cheapest way to get wide multitimbral breadth (Proteus ~390 EUR, 32 parts, 128 real voices, no battery) plus genuine FM character (Digitone). ~1250-1670 EUR total covers more sonic ground per euro than anything else here. Honest caveats: the Proteus is 2001-tier sound (anaemic filter, only 2 global FX), its 6 outs are stage-split groups not true stems (no preset fan-out), and the Digitone multi-out still waits on the Outbox. Der Haken: The Proteus 6 outs are STAGE-SPLIT GROUP buses, not per-part stems (no preset fan-out across out-pairs), and its 2 global FX are hardwired to the Main outs - so true per-part discrete recording is limited and Sub-out parts come out dry. Sound is honest 2001-tier (anaemic filter). And the Digitone's discrete multi-out depends entirely on the Outbox 8, whose iPad/USB class-compliance is UNVERIFIED until owner reports land Jul/Aug 2026 - until then the guaranteed Digitone multi-out path is Mac/PC Overbridge, not iPad. Combined full split (14 jacks / 7 stems) also overflows the bare L6, forcing a sub-mix or a bigger interface.

Warum sie sich gegenseitig ersetzen:
Channel-fit is the best of any combo here (~10 jacks, fits the L6 dead-on), and the analog-vs-sampled split is real. BUT the structural problem: the MPC Live III is itself a full standalone groovebox/host/sequencer - it's a PARALLEL competitor to the Loopy/iPad center, not a complement (the synth research calls it 'the opposite of a complement'). Running it as a dumb multitimbral voice-bed under Loopy wastes its whole performance brain and duplicates sequencing you already do on iPad. The A4 spice is clean; the MPC base is the wrong kind of box for this specific iPad-centric rig.

The user idea, honest verdict: the ROLE SPLIT is real (band-bed arranger vs FM character) and they don't musically overlap, so it scores OK on gap/role. But two structural problems drag it down: (1) the Audya 4 is a legacy arranger - spinning HDD, USB-reliability risk, EOL engine, 7kg, DIN-only - a heavy, dated backbone; (2) it has only 4 outs so its 32 parts collapse to 2 stereo stems anyway, wasting the part-count, and the Digitone multi-out still needs the unverified Outbox. The dedicated Ketron research is blunt: do NOT make a Ketron the multi-out backbone.

Warum sie sich gegenseitig ersetzen:
The redundancy trap: a Ketron arranger ALREADY produces full real-audio drums and bass from its styles, so bolting on a drum machine (Rytm) double-books the rhythm role - that's exactly the 'both do the same job' pattern that should score low. The analog-drum character does differ from PCM drums, so it's not total overlap, but you're paying arranger money for a band-bed and then largely bypassing its rhythm section. Channel-fit is actually fine (4 stems / 8 jacks). Still a weaker idea than pairing the arranger with a melodic/FM/VA character box.

The maximalist temptation, and it fails the honesty test on two of the user's own constraints. CHANNEL BUDGET: three boxes demand ~20 mono jacks - double the bare L6's 10 analog inputs and beyond its 12 USB-to-iPad stream - so you MUST buy a bigger interface and/or sub-mix, and iOS only sees ONE interface at a time. PERFORMABILITY: that's 8-10 potential stems when the human live ceiling is ~4-5; you become a mixer, not a performer. ROLE OVERLAP: Integra's V-Drums + Digitone percussion + Rytm triple-book the rhythm role. Engine-coverage is genuinely the widest of any combo, but it breaks the channel + performability budget - only sane as a STUDIO recording rig, not a live one. Buy the third box later, don't open with it.
